Obituary of Malcolm Jackson
In loving memory of Malcolm David “Mac” Jackson who died at the Temiskaming Hospital, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the age of 89.
Mac was born in Harley Township on December 13, 1929 to the late Henry Albert Jackson and Margaret Helena Legrow, he was the 15th child of 16. He was raised on the family farm and after his dad's passing, he and his brother Osborne assumed the responsibility of the farm.
He married Nora Matilda Willard, of Kerns Township, on October 4, 1952. Together they raised 7 children. Alex (Lorraine), Ricky, Sherry (Jesse Leverre), Henry (Kim), Christopher (Barb), Nancy (Mike Corbin), and Jim (Jo-Anne)
Mac was predeceased by his wife, Nora and his son Christopher. He is survived by his last sibling, Colleen (Willard). He is also lovingly remembered by his 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mac was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church and had served as councillor for Harley Township in his earlier years.
In Mac's younger days, he played music with his family at the Hanbury Hall. The "farm" was known as the gathering place for music and socializing with family and friends over the years.
In 1996 Mac and Nora retired from farm life and moved to New Liskeard.
Mac loved to play cards and always looked forward to anyone who was willing to play.
Visitation will be at the Perrin Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 10th from 7 – 9 pm and early visitation on Friday, January 11th, 2019 from 10:00 am to 10:45 am, immediately followed by mass at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish in New Liskeard at 11:00 am.
